Lee Griggs [Arte digital]

Lee Griggs

"Limbo"

"Retratos abstractos / Abstract Portraits"

Lee Griggs is a British-born, Madrid-based artist working with digital utilities creating these images in 3D. In addition to the heads that we can see in this selection, created using the Arnold renderer for Maya and XGen, he also develops interesting topologic landscapes with XGen, and is a technical author at Solid Angle where he tests and documents the Arnold renderer. He work from customer feedback with the engineering team to improve the plugins and documentation.

"Deformaciones / Deformations"

«I've always seen faces in objects and textures since I was a child. I believe it's called pareidolia. I guess I enjoy making faces out of other shapes.»

«The area that interests me most about working with CGI is that you can make the unreal look real. It is this search to create something that hasn't been seen before (and which looks pretty) which drives me.»

"Deformaciones / Deformations"

«My current job is to test the rendering software and to see how far I can push it. I like to see if I can break something by going beyond its intended use or mixing it with something else entirely different.»

«I just want to try to do something a bit different. I think there is a lot of work out there that is quite 'samey' and I really appreciate work that is original and unconventional.»
